The DHT funds and promotes alternatives to the use of animals in medical research.
Its new Annual Review captures some of the great projects that the charity has supported over the past 12 months.
In 2011 the DHT gave financial assistance of more than half a million pounds to eighteen breakthrough research projects in the UK.
These included advanced brain imaging techniques, nanotoxicology testing, Huntington’s disease, asthma, skin cancer, pain and cystic fibrosis.
